The acquisition of the Kenzo scarf

It's been such a solid week at work there has barely been anytime for posting and catching up on my must read blogs.  Occasionally it gets difficult to simultaneously work in everything, but who's not up for a little challenge every now and then to keep one on their toes right?  Then of course the sales started which always turns out to be a major distraction for me.  I always feel mixed emotions with the sales.  Rejoicing for the 'huge' savings and equally so, cringing at the vast spending that erodes the savings and leaves little more than emptiness in its wake.

But enough about all of that.  I'm still doing catch up on some outfit posts.  It's been getting chilly which is the perfect opportunity to get back into my neck brace accessories.  I'm addicted to chunky woollen, over sized scarves which could easily uphold your neck if you wrapped it around even just the once.  It's the one thing for me where size matters.

This is the first time I've gotten to take this yellow Kenzo beauty out.  It was a last season sales buy which involved navigating the complexities of multiple shipping locations by using a 'ship it to' drop box in the USA and then getting it forwarded on to Australia.  The things we do for certain pieces.  Correction, the things I do.  I shouldn't label others as being as devoted (or maybe crazy is more appropriate) as me.  Have any of you gone to ridiculous lengths for a specific item?  For me I've been rather fortunate. On some occasions I've managed to persuade my partner into doing most of the hard yards. Pretty cheeky huh!

  1. haha let's just get one thing out of the way..that Bal jacket! so beautiful :) You must think I'm crazy I say that every time you wear it, haha. But it is beautiful, and looks great on you!

Really like the big yellow knit scarf too - looks so cosy! :) And I confess to using forwarding services often as well, better than paying Aussie prices for OS items anyway!

    1. Absolutely Mica. It is usually so much cheaper to buy from overseas. Anything to get a gorgeous item at the best price right? x

  2. Love it when you start getting in to winter gear - you have some of the best coats and scarves around and this Kenzo one is no exception. And can I say your Tom must adore you to bits to get down to ground level to take your shoe shots. Mine would never do that. I just had to do some manic contortion stuff to try to take a picture of my sandals. The things we do for a pic! And the things we do for clothes - I don't think I've done anything as extreme - just manic stalking of every store in town till I locate a piece upon which I don't want it any more. But that's just me.

    1. Tom is a good lad isn't he! Devoted and an absolute sweetheart. So funny with your 'stalking' antics. I do that too. I think sometimes the 'chase' is have the fun! That's the only rationale explanation that springs to mind!

    1. I rarely wear yellow as well. I can wear mustard but yellow is normally difficult. This scarf I was willing to make an exception for. The things we do for fashion! The shoes... they are the least favourite shoes I have (in my partner's eyes). But they are so comfortable, kind of a little hard core and I love the originality of them so they stay!

    1. Ha ha Kayin. Take my word for it, the sales are a costly exercise. There is no such thing as 'just looking'.

    1. Thanks Ritika. All of the main items in this outfit were probably the hardest for me to get out of everything I own so I have a real soft spot for them :)

    1. Hey Steph, Sorry I don't know one for the UK/Europe. I never have any trouble getting items shipped from the EU to Australia only sometimes from the US to Australia. If I hear of a reputable one I will definitely let you know :)

  14. Awesome scarf Mandi! I go to great lengths all the time for pieces, sometimes because I refuse to pay double tax on items from outside the EU. I am known to have shipped items to colleagues in the US or Australian office and beg them to bring the items to London when they travel for work!

    1. I can't blame you Vanessa. The extra tax on items shipped within the EU is a bit of a killer. We are so fortunate with getting the VAT taken off for purchases outside the EU. Approximately 20% is a significant amount especially for costly items. At least you have a system :)
