The acquisition of the Kenzo scarf

It's been such a solid week at work there has barely been anytime for posting and catching up on my must read blogs.  Occasionally it gets difficult to simultaneously work in everything, but who's not up for a little challenge every now and then to keep one on their toes right?  Then of course the sales started which always turns out to be a major distraction for me.  I always feel mixed emotions with the sales.  Rejoicing for the 'huge' savings and equally so, cringing at the vast spending that erodes the savings and leaves little more than emptiness in its wake.

But enough about all of that.  I'm still doing catch up on some outfit posts.  It's been getting chilly which is the perfect opportunity to get back into my neck brace accessories.  I'm addicted to chunky woollen, over sized scarves which could easily uphold your neck if you wrapped it around even just the once.  It's the one thing for me where size matters.

This is the first time I've gotten to take this yellow Kenzo beauty out.  It was a last season sales buy which involved navigating the complexities of multiple shipping locations by using a 'ship it to' drop box in the USA and then getting it forwarded on to Australia.  The things we do for certain pieces.  Correction, the things I do.  I shouldn't label others as being as devoted (or maybe crazy is more appropriate) as me.  Have any of you gone to ridiculous lengths for a specific item?  For me I've been rather fortunate. On some occasions I've managed to persuade my partner into doing most of the hard yards. Pretty cheeky huh!

Hello doll face!

I still have a weakness for this quirky little Charlotte Olympia Matryoshka Pandora.   The 55% off sale at The Outnet is doing nothing to dull my lust!

Shop the Netaporter sale!

It's that time of year again.  I literally hang out for this sale twice a year and try to clean up with up to 50% savings which really comes in handy when you are looking at purchasing designer goodies.

Netaporter (US) has just commenced its sale and it doesn't do anything half hearted.  There are bargains galore at 50% straight up!

You go directly to the sale page (HERE)

I managed to pick up:
  • This Richard Nicoll dress. I love the clean, structured lines and minimalistic influence. Perfectly ladylike yet modern.
  • The cutest little Suno printed cut-out dress which I had eyed off all season. The kind of piece that you could wear daily and be perfectly comfortable and stylish in.
  • A pair of Heidi Klein bikini bottoms. I love to mix and match my swimwear so these bottoms with a bold red hue andthe detailed side tassels were an obvious choice.
  • This Alexander Wang paneled top that is the perfect mix of sleek and sexy. This is sure to be a future classic in my wardrobe.
  • Naturally, my list would never be complete without at least one pair of shoes.  I some how miraculously snagged a pair of the Gianvito Rossi silver holographic leather and transparent pumps!  In my eyes these are the perfect fusion of classic and edgy.

Acne Zone Music tee

It's been a while since we headed out in the city, so last weekend was a great chance to get a little dressed up for the occasion and a good excuse to wear my new Acne tee.  This is what I wore when we finally went to Nobu at Crown which has been on our list of restaurants to try ever since it opened a few years back.  In hind sight, I don't know what took us so long to get there.  It seems there is always something that pops up and we've put it off.

To say the food and total experience was perfection is an understatement.  It felt like the past few months of busy schedules and mindless things that normally get far too much time spent on them, just melted away.  There is nothing like just feeling in the moment and absolutely content.

The new 'Trio' on the block!

If you needed to do a double take as to whether you were looking at the renowned Celine Trio, you wouldn't be the first. I too was mistaken a little at first glance. Annabel Ingall's 'Jojo' cross body bag is so characteristically similar to the Trio, they could pass as being long lost sibling perhaps?  Normally I'm not one for items 'similar' to renowned designer items, but in this case I'm willing to make an exception.  Firstly, the bags have quality workmanship, pebbled leather, the much loved three 'trio' zipped compartments, there are seven colours to choose from (which are all unfortunately just as nice as the next), and these little numbers retail for approximately 30% of the price of the Trio. Not only that, you can find them online HERE too!  Woo hoo... What's not to love?

Since I already own the black Celine Trio myself, I'm keen to mix it up with some colour.  Blue, red or fluro yellow?  That's a hard one to call.

Karen Walker eye wear

Most campaigns you see with gorgeous young things front and centre. Flawless beauties that make you question where the fairness is with dishing out good genetics or plain old luck in the looks department. Not so with Karen Walker's eye wear campaigns.  With kick ass style grannies, these push the boundaries in the best of ways.  I love them for being unique and edgy and dare I say, cooler than me on my best of days!  One word comes to mind when I think of the basis of this marketing strategy.  Vision!  Pun intended.

White pants 5 ways - Part 5 (Weekend wear)

Last one to wrap up the series is my weekend wear.  You will be flat out finding me dressed in anything other than comfortable clothes, especially on a Sunday.  An essential part of my lazy days are sneakers which I got back in to when the Isabel Marant ones first hit the scene.  Although I still have my Isabel Marant ones, they have literally proliferated the fashion scene to such an extent that it prompted me to look for something more old school, more classic and less of the moment, to be able to mix my looks up a bit more. The Converse Chuck Taylor's are utter perfection. They tick all the boxes and compared to all the designer counterparts out there, are a nice affordable option.

This just couldn't wait!  The Corner (US site) has just gone on sale with up to 30% off and lets face it, one or two days holding back on letting you know could mean the difference between you getting your much loved wish list item compared to seeing it 'sold out'.  I look after you right!

White pants 5 ways - Part 4 (Texture)

This outfit was the perfect fit on Sunday for Mother's Day.  Uncomplicated luxury is what I love when I'm wanting to feel and look comfortable without compromising on style.  I'm often drawn to simple tran-seasonal pieces such as knits in solid colours, with interesting textures or weaves, combined with a more dramatic shoe.  Speaking of which, aren't these Chloe pumps outrageously cute?  They were a super sale piece from The Outnet so naturally all control was lost and boom... they were in the shopping bag.

I've been having sensory overload with the number of solid coloured knits and tops this season.  All of these have made it to my wish list which seems to be in an ever expanding state of flux. Unrealistic... sure, but my online wish list it is like my alternate wardrobe in a parallel universe and it doesn't cost anything to have!

As it turns out there are also a bucket load of textured shoes around at the moment too. Why is it when it rains it pours?!
