Mulberry: Call of the wild

I get asked quite a bit about what's actually in my wardrobe so every now and then I thought I would include a few snapshots. In all honesty, my wardrobe isn't overflowing. I keep it to a very reasonable/condensed size and do regular culls.

This is one of my favourite handbags at the moment.  It's the Mulberry Travel bag with the zebra print from the 2012 summer collection.  Mulberry have a knack for modernizing a classic style bag which is what I find most appealing.  Once I spotted this bag being carried by the uber chic Olivia Palermo (who I consider to be a walking talking advertisement for Mulberry), there was no denying that a little piece of animal aesthetic needed to be injected into my closet in the form of this bag.

I've been having insane crushes this season on pony hair and animal prints but I'm keeping them to a minimum.  Although I'm not too concerned with what's in and what's out of fashion (I tend to love what I love), I'm very aware that there will a breaking point even for me where the animalistic crush will need to be put to rest or at least stored for a season or two.

Below is one of the photographs of Olivia with the bag that caused my downfall, meaning the depletion of my 'savings'. I think I need to learn to block the search functionality on my computer for all bags and 'Olivia' related items!

  1. Such a cute bag - I really like the print! Mulberry have really caught my interest lately - they are definitely doing something right :)

Feel free it share your wardrobe culling tips too! I'm a "just in case" hoarder. Once it's in my wardrobe I'll keep it just in case I need it for some magical event that never happens.

    1. Ha ha... my wardrobe 'culling' tips. I just get in clean out mode and then everything disappears. I seem to be ruthless these days. I used to be a hoarder too and keep (and buy) things just because they were so pretty. I cull too much!

  8. You can't go wrong with a Mulberry. I do love the zebra and leopard print. While it's still considered a "neutral", it's unique enough to be a statement. I guess you no longer have to "borrow" Tom's bag.

  9. I'm loving pony hair as well. I love that you do posts on what you actually have in your closet. Sometimes bloggers great this impression that their closets are full of designer pieces. I started doing a series called My Favorites and I only feature brands and products that I actually own and use. I love your philosophy of a reasonable sized closet with culls. I'm exactly the same. I can be quite rational and unemotional when it comes to my closet! ;)

    1. I've actually got the blue pony hair with lizard print leather in the same bag. I couldn't resist them both on sale! Eek (bank balance issues). I just checked out your blog and love the my favourites and the integrity of staying true to the brands you love. It's so easy to loose sight of that. Glad to see another 'Aussie' blogger to (well Canberra based). Stay in touch xx
