Blue skies & Batman

Today marks the first day that I'm back mingling in public after having a bout of the flu.  The sun was shining brighter than I've seen it for months.  It's amazing the difference sunshine makes to energy levels and a person's demeanour.  It's rather invigorating and nothing pleases me more to see the end of what has felt like a perpetual winter.

Funnily enough with all the blue skies, we were in the movies for the final three hours of daylight.   We went to see 'The Dark Knight Rises' which I can only sum up as phenomenal.  Nolan really is the master of the superhero genre.  With aptly applied (yet un-expected) plot twists, in-depth character development and the sensationalistic action sequences that we have come to be expect from the Batman series, we were glued to our seats for the entire time. What a great start to the weekend.

As much as I enjoyed the movie, the tragic news of the injuries and loss of life at the Batman premiere in Aurora, Colorado really puts things in perspective. All my thoughts are with the people affected by this senseless tragedy.

  3. Good to hear you're recovered from the flu! Love your outfit. I noticed that I'm really drawn to that color you're wearing. Just purchased this top in a similar green color. Also, happy to hear that the Dark Knight rises is a great movie. We already purchased tickets to see the movie in over an hour from now, well before the news of the shooting reached us. Having mixed feelings having to watch the movie, but will try to focus on the fact that it's a phenomenal movie...
Enjoy the sun and your weekend Mandi!

  9. I love the Rolf sweater! Loved it when I first saw it on you and love it even more now. Argh. I always tend to catch a trend late. Too late when everything has sold out.
