Myer launches Isabel Marant

This post will be most exciting for the ladies based in Melbourne, but I'm sure the uber Parisian cool styling has appeal for everyone.  After all it is what our little fashionable dreams are made (well at least for most of us).

This ten page spread has literally just hit the Australian magazine racks with a massive feature in Grazia for... wait for it... the release of Isabel Marant in Myer, Melbourne!  Talk about a sensory overload.  For all of you that are internationally based ladies that have easy access to Isabel Marant, Australian ladies aren't, or at least haven't been that fortunate. The stores that stock Isabel Marant are few and far between.  Thanks to Myer this is now on the fast track to being rectified.

A heads up for the Melbourne ladies that I'm sure are about to diverge on the city store... Myer tends to close off its designer sector for private viewings/appointments for buyers at the start of the season.  But don't panic it's only for a couple of weeks and then it's open to the public, the items are on the floor and trading is as normal.  I'm pretty sure the private viewings end this week (if they haven't already).

I was fortunate enough to have access to the private area on the weekend and I have to say, the stock is absolutely beautiful.  The buyers have done the Melbourne market proud!  On a personal note, I can't tell you how nice it is to finally have easy access to see, try and buy one of my favourite international labels.  There was lots of interest and noses pressed firmly to the glass that encased the private designer area by eager ladies trying to get a sneak peak.  Gauging from that alone and the excitable chatter, I'm sure the racks won't stay stocked for long.

With prices like that I think that the rails will still be full. Who in the right mind would spend like that. Don't get me wrong I love IM but really the price point is very hefty

    1. It's a funny thing... I buy internationally quite a bit due to it costing less but there seems to be a fair portion of women that buy locally. Most items were comparable to the US prices

  7. It's great that Myer has finally got into the act. NZ is still pretty far behind in terms of access to international brands. I never take for granted the incredible array of brands available at my finger tips here. However, it's great that big stores now ship internationally. That wasn't the case 4 years ago when it was a nightmare just trying to place an order via Neiman Marcus or NAP.

    1. I remember those days and everything in NZ and Austraia which was an international label was so expensive. Thank goodness those days have now past. I still prefer your access though :) Bring on London!

  13. Wow - another reason to visit Melbourne now :) its a shame the pricing is so high here - the buyers really need to start comparing to the euro as it is so much cheaper over there. Lucky girl to get to try things on - I'm sure it will sell out fast.

    1. It's all stocked up. I went in early this week but just a heads up it was still closed off (including all the other new designer stock as well). If you're making a special trip it might be worth giving them a phone call first. Alternatively, if you're in there, just go to the designer counter and ask to be able to have a look. No harm in asking :) They are very helpful there as well
