Fiercely detailed

I hit the stores this week in my own backyard of Melbourne.  It seems I don't do it often enough. I'd forgotten how some of our stores are comparable to those in the global fashion capitals.  Fortunately I just went 'window shopping' since the store ('Miss Louise') was closed.  They have ample items on display in the window to entice you back during opening hours. So far I've avoided the temptation which has been a daily challenge since I spotted they stock the luxurious Chloe studded 'Sussana' boot.  Ah... breathe... by strong!

With such a vast selection, I simply had to photograph some of the more intricate bags and shoes to share with you (so you can ooh and ah with me).  Now my lifestyle doesn't call for the majority of these items since they are highly embellished, but I still absolutely love them.  They are sheer design masterpieces, the workmanship and vision of the creators of each of these pieces are astounding. After seeing these beauties in person, I understand why the $$$$$ prices are justified.

  1. Miss Louise has some amazing pieces! It's just such a shame it's overpriced and has no customer service. :(
I do have 2 pairs of shoes from Miss Louise, but I got them on super sale when they had one of their yearly "shoes from $199" sales.

The windows are droolworthy to walk past though! :)

    1. I absolutely agree with you on both points (from my personal experience) which is a shame. Eye candy central though.

Have a great Easter Mica xx

  2. Impressive specimens, there. Louis XIV meets glam rocks. Almost better suited to a museum, really; at that price, who wouldn't be paranoid about damaging them (except for people with a surplus of disposable income, of course). Still: thank goodness for window shopping and cameras that let us admire without the worry that comes with owning such lovely things. :)

  4. I'm with you. These will not suit my lifestyle at all but that doesn't mean I won't gawk. I saw a pair of Balmain jeans for an incredible price at an outlet today and immediately thought of you.

    1. I've been avoiding going in so at present, I'm not sure of the price. I think I'll head in next week though to give them a whirl. I'll post about the $ then. I missed out from NAP. Congrat's! They are utterly fab boots!

I think from memory (2008) they were seriously overpriced, but back then it was almost unheard of to make that sort of purchase online so they could get away with it. I got mine today. They are seriously gorgeous. I figured after lusting after them for 4 years I had to get them. They are such an investment.

    1. I agree. Plus if you get them from the EU (as long as you don't buy in Australia), they are far better priced so don't tend to make you feel so bad. I've heard they are so amazing. A handful of my friends have them and love them to death. They are an amazing investment though. The fact that they were so popular 4 years ago and women still can't get enough of them, it really says something. I'm so glad you love yours. Best purchase ever!

So.... did you wind up venturing in? These boots are insanely addictive I now find myself wondering if they have a pair in red size 39 .... (Sorry I don't mean to be anonymous but am not sure what else to choose!)

    3. I'm going in today to try them on. Hoping I can leave without the boots with me! Everyone I know that has a pair loves them so much. That's ok about the anon. :) So are you going to get the red as well?

So did you brave it in the end? Am thinking I won't get the red pair but might have to look into getting a pair of Dicker boots instead. Do you know the best place to source them online?

    5. I went in today (finally) and I'm in love! They are $1,495. I just need a little cash to fall out of the sky now and I'm set! I can see why you love them so much.

The Dicker boots will be getting re-released for winter and I'm sure that NAP will have them. You can do pre-orders for them now on Espejto as well. Check Espejto out and let me know if you are after a different size/colour and I'll do a search for you :)

Wow that's $250 more than I paid (including shipping). I think they were charging more last time.

Thanks for the help. Do you know how the sizing works? I'm always a 39 (even in the Chloe boots which everyone said ran big). Am hoping to get taupe or khaki or grey. As you can see not fussy!

    7. I'll do a search for you on the Dickers :) I know that I am a size US 6 in shoes and I take a size 36 in all IM shoes. The Chloe's for some unbelievable reason I took a 35 but I was told they ran a size big. I think with the Chloe's it depends on which production run you got as to the sizing difference. My normal size in Chloe shoes is 36.

Australia is always so pricey compared to overseas unfortunately. Did you get yours from Netaporter?

Yes I did. I still paid too much I think. If I'd got them from Dianiboutique.com (i think that's what it's called) they would have been ever cheaper as the dollar is stronger against the euro at the moment. Or maybe it was myteresa. Pays to shop around but sometimes you have to be quick.

Let me know how you get on with the boots. I'm definitely thinking grey or khaki now. I have a knock off pair in taupe so a darker colour would be better.

    1. Sorry for the delay. Ok... have you checked out the Dicker boots (in the pre-order section) on Espejto? They have a gorgeous khaki colour and they have them in 39 and 40 (so you would be fine size wise). Beautiful colour.

That is the only place that has them up already. What I like about Espejto is you can order now so you won't miss out. I deal with Espejto a lot. You've already signed up there right? Because you have to log in to be able to see it. Can you send me an email to findmeamuse@gmail.com and I'll send you the pic (if you can't see it) and the instructions and my direct contact person there. Also the prices on the website include VAT. With shipping to Australia VAT (20%) gets taken off the price which makes them a great price. They have to send you a paypal invoice though as it can't be done through the website.

Let me know how you go or if you would like other stores :)

Hi Mandi, do you know if the Dicker boots are still available for preorder on Espejto or am I too late? I registered and logged onto their site but don't see any items for preorder. I've sent them an email to ask but haven't heard back!!

    1. Hi, Espejto haven't got the Dicker boots online anymore which means that they have sold. Try emailing these stores: Diani, Creatures of Comfort, Barneys New York, The New Guard, Meiter. A heap of those stores normally carry the Dicker boots. Also email Netaporter customer care. They always stock them too. If you have no luck, drop me an email and I'll do some searching for you xx
