I originally mastered a crayon style eye-liner. However it ran out last week, much to my devastation. Since I couldn't get the same one, I was somewhat put off at the prospect of other eye-liners. I don't particularly have a steady hand but have been absolutely loving the 60's styled cat-eyes and eye-lining technique that's currently being featured heavily in editorials.
After a little bit of beauty bar hoping in the cosmetics department on the weekend, I came across this ingenious product. It's the Lancome Artliner (eye-liner) in Noir. It has a felt tip which allows you to do a nice thicker line when pressed firmly on the eye-lid. This is perfect for me, since the application actually looks smooth and the line fluent rather than 'wobbly' which is my normal outcome with a liquid eye-liner. You can still get a thinner line when used with a lighter application and the end of the line, can easily be dragged upwards and flicked to create the perfectly finished line. The texture of the liquid is devine with a nice creamy feel (technically referred to as a 'mousse') that dries instantly. What a dream product for an amateur eye-liner like me, who isn't a make-up artist by any means but I at least like to look like know what I'm doing.
I thought this product was worth sharing with you all as it would have to be one of the simplest and most beautiful eye-liners I've ever attempted to use.
An application tip: If you find the need to go over an existing line to correct it or to make it thicker, just leave it for a little bit to dry (say 1 minute). You can then go over the line easily without damaging it. While the line is semi-dry, if you try to re-apply, it will cause the line to drag and not to apply properly.
