My Balmain purchases from the outnet FINALLY!

I don't believe it!  Another influx of Balmain hit http://www.theoutnet.com/ on both the international and the US sites about a week ago and I finally manage to get a couple of items.   I think luck must finally be on my side after missing out on on my favourite items in the last Balmain sale.  I was consumed with bitter disappointment and incessantly updating the site to search for returns became part of my daily routine.

I have to tell you there is a real skill involved with actually purchasing a Balmain item on the outnet at 70-80% off retail.  Every time I went to purchase a Balmain tuxedo style jacket and completed checkout, it would literally say this item has sold out.  There are some seriously fast purchasers out there. It's like an Olympic sport!

So here are the items I managed to get in the second round of the Balmain sale. I love them and they actually fit!  I'll take some action shots of these soon. Believe it or not I forgot to photograph them before packing for the UK but had to post these shots as I'm just so darn excited.  These are my first ever Balmain pieces so I'm sure you can understand my delight.

My budget unfortunately doesn't stretch far enough (or my conscience) to allow me to buy Balmain at its standard retail prices so the chance to actually own these pieces has left me feeling rather fortunate.  As an example of the thrifty finds, the belts were down to an un-heard of price of £55 and £65!

  2. They were the find of the century.. literally.

You have to get on the site within the first hour or two of things going up to nab the most popular items. Really is pot luck. I would suggest registering on the site. They will send you emails notifying you of the sales. I've been told there is normally one around January too. Cross fingers

    Hi Mandi,
Which size are your Balmain belts..? We seem to be the same size in IM jeans (size 0), so a bit curious as to the sizing of the belts.. After doing a bit of research on the Internet, they seem to be somewhat small to size or..? Also curious to hear the size of the Balmain leather pants as well as the Balmain blazer; have stumbled across both a couple of times, but quite uncertain as to which size to get and therefore I haven't pressed the "Buy" button yet :-).. I have a Balenciaga blazer quite similar in a FR36, but this is very tight under the arms and across the chest, so would like to get the "right" size this time..
Would really appreciate your feedback :-)..

    1. Hi Berit,

With the belts I've got one that is a 36 and one that is a 38. Both fit, but I would go for a 38 if you want to wear it for low waisted jeans. The 36 still fits but more on the last hole or so which is why I prefer the 38.

I'm a consistent size 36 in the Balmain jeans/leather pants even when some sites have said they run small. All 36 have been good. With the jackets, the 36 is good again (I've got the white tux jacket), but I can also do a 38 in the jackets.

I hope that helps :-) Let me know if you need more help. I'm happy to help. Nothing worse than getting the wrong size

    Hi Mandi,
Appreciate the feedback :-).. As far as the belts are concerned, then the measures stated eg. on a belt similar to one of yours (the gold and silver coiled) currently on eBay must be wrong..? The size is a size 38, total length - 81cm/ 32", only fits waist, not hips, smallest hole- 64cm.25", last hole-70cm/27.5".. This belt appears to be sooooo small..? When seeing these measurements, then I should go for a size 40, as I want to be able to wear the belt on the hips (low waisted jeans).. I actually thought I should go for a size 34 in the Balmain leather pants, but if your's are a size 36, FR36 right? - then I'm probably the same size. Which size do you usually wear in jeans (other than IM, as the IM sizing is still not perfect for my shape - always way too big in the waist, so I always have to have them taken in). I'm usually a size 24/25..

    1. My black leather belt with the gold/silver coiled detail is a 36 but I would definitely have bought that one larger if I could. It fits me on the last hole with lowish waisted jeans (not super low though). A 38 or even a 40 would probably be ok. 38 would be my preference.

I'm a size 25 in most jeans. On occasions I fit 24's as well but I would say I'm more of a standard 25 in jeans. I would say since you are a 24/25 you are probably a tiny bit smaller than me.

I haven't tried on heaps of Balmain leather pants. Tried the leather leggings, the shiny zip leather pants I have and the 36 is perfect for me. Tried on a heap of jeans as well and always been the 36 (I can't fit the long leg Balmain jeans with zippers, only the cropped pairs as I'm too short). That's something to consider as well if you are short/mid height. Go for the shorter/cropped length would be my recommendation as the jeans/leathers in full length with the zips at the bottom will be far too long and can't be altered for a shorty like me :-)
